Sort of a portrait of Synyster Gates (the guitarist of Avenged Sevenfold, for those of you who don't know).
Painted for 's contest. The theme is "red" ... I had no idea what to draw until I came across a pic of Syn dipped in red stage lights. Well, rock stars are always an inspiration
Adds more variety to your gallery with the different colour choice, which I know I have said before but I find it true (in my opinion at least). Like the above said, it seems really soft with the strokes. I think I've decided I like the white background; I'm not sure why I've said about the background but it's still an important aspect of a drawing.
I hope you do well in the contest of course. The improvements you're making in digital art are very clear. I wonder how long on average do you take to complete a digital art piece (including sketches etc.),
I'm sure I've asked this before. If so I apologise, because I know how annoying it is to repeat something you've already said.
Thank you! I'm glad you like it. It's good to hear people telling me that I'm improving, especially since I'm such an amateur learning everything by myself
It's OK to ask that if you're curious. I completed this in two days (but that's because I could only draw during the few hours before going to work) The pencil sketch took about two hours (during which I almost gave up), than I scanned it and colouring took about 4 hours in total.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More
